The new nesting lair for Smirkenorff the Dragon in the final series.

Smirkenorff's Lair

By Keith McDonald

A new nesting lair for Smirkenorff, who did not fly dungeoneers during the final series.

With a new CGI-generated dungeon, Smirkenorff the Dragon did not fly dungeoneers in the final series.

Instead, he retired to a lair in Level 1, which is discovered in the second half of the season. He spends most of his time sleeping or demanding to be left in peace from Motley.

If teams woke him up, he would offer magic in exchange for a firestone or when he is put under a spell of dragon charming.

The lair has similar aesthetic features and textures to the general Level 1 environment for Series 8.

However, most of the floor is missing to allow room for the dragon. A perimeter ledge remains for dungeoneers to exit.

Though Smirkenorff did not fly in-quest, he takes off to collect the final dungeoneer from Linghorm at the season end.

Now please, leave me in peace.
