McGrew

By Keith McDonald

McGrew was a Celt equipped with a sword. His infrequent appearances were critical to teams' fortunes in Level 2.

The burly McGrew made two appearances during the third series. He wore a full-length kilt and had a Scottish accent, which made him quite distinctive.

In both cases, he threatened dungeoneers - either for spoils or because he is seeking a rival 'Campbell' clan.

Bold, black McGrew will be helping himself to your valuables...

McGrew

McGrew, a barbarian played by David Verrey in Series 3 of Knightmare (1989).

One team uses magic to subdue McGrew but guides the dungeoneer through a nearby exit before McGrew can negotiate a release.

Another dungeoneer convinces McGrew that he is not from the rival 'Campbell' clan. McGrew atones for this by assisting him through the rest of the level.

During an action-packed trip, the Celt manages to insult Mogdred, fight off a magic sword, and push the dungeoneer down the mine cart track to Level 3.
