Knightmare Series 9

Hugo Myatt mentioned that he thought Knightmare could run for at least another two series, due to the new ideas the production team had. Does anyone know or remember what some of these ideas were?

Re: change from s4 to s5

Possibly the Christmas ending to Series 4 was intended to act as a kind of dramatic foil to the introduction of Lord Fear at the start of Series 5, e.g. Merlin saying "There's nothing to fear".

Re: What Would You Like To See....

I think they could have gone up in the forest, sort of Go Ape meets Knightmare (in a gentle way). You could have had the Opposition in some sort of log castle up there, and it would have enabled more physical puzzles with swinging and balancing etc - obviously nothing too dangerous or high up though.

Re: Dishing the dirt

I don't remember Giles falling off the Spindizzy, although it took around 5 minutes including Treguard's introduction and was drastically cut due to the timing on episode 14; I think Giles' recollection of being pulled up by the producer related to 'throwing a spanner in the works' when he lobbed th...

Re: Budget

During our audition for series 4, the producer said they had a budget of £1m. That works out as more money per episode than the £480k for series 8, even given that there were more episodes.

Unused, unseen quest plans

Does this website have any details of unused, unseen quest plans anywhere - not so much plans for quests that were never started but continuations of quests that were not completed? Particularly for series 4, but also for series 1 and 3.

The Tower of Time

A somewhat interesting co-incidence, at least to me, is that our team's visit to the Tower of Time during Episode 16 of Series 4 occurred more-or-less halfway through Knightmare (being at the end of series 4). In this episode, at the 'centre' of Knightmare, we encountered both Merlin (from Series 1,...

Re: Series 4 Team 7 & Gameplay

Thanks for your kind, complimentary remarks, Fidjit (Happy Easter, btw). I know what you mean about Dickon's team. They were certainly very cautious. I think they had an easier run, no doubt, with no Block and Tackle, the Corridor of Blades as I mentioned was I think easier because Pickle didn't say...

Re: Series 4 Team 7 & Gameplay

I hadn't realised the previous team to us was also sent into the Block and Tackle on the diagonal as well as us. Giles was told to take 'four large steps' into the room by the floor manager. Due to his enthusiasm, perhaps, he started off quite far into the room on the left-hand side during the first...

Knightmare VR 2017

Searching the internet last night I came across Knightmare VR 2017 on several - apparently movie - databases. It says written by Tim Child; starring Hugo Myatt; release date 2016 or 2017 (depending on the website).

Anyone know anything more about this ?!

Re: Series 4 Appreciation Week

Hi everyone, I'm not here to present the case that Series 4 was the best, but in terms of playing it as team captain I must say I really enjoyed it, and didn't notice it was too boring (experienced as an individual quest in its own right, why would I think that?!) or 'too purple' - incidentally a co...

Re: What the future holds, perhaps?

I have just read 'The History of Knightmare' and here is my tongue-in-cheek initial response. Oh dear. That's what we call the Demographic Descender, team. What a pity. It's a shame you didn't follow the path to an annual, live, multi-team contest. Things could have reached Olympic proportions. Ther...

Re: Those that were denied...

Does anybody know whether it might be possible for us to complete our quest at a Knightmare convention in 2017/2018 using something like Occulus Rift?

Just a thought!
