Pickle was Treguard's first assistant in the main antechamber of Knightmare Castle. He enters at the start of Series 4 and remains for three seasons.

Pickle is a new addition in the antechamber when Treguard welcomes viewers at the start of Series 4.
He becomes part of the start and end of each episode - famously telling viewers to 'Bog off' on one occasion.
Pickle manages the Book of Quests, giving a status update at the start of each episode.
There they go again, master. Giving out their names like there's no tomorrow!
Source of help
As an elf from the woods, Pickle is a useful source of information about new forest areas within the dungeon.
He wants to help every team - from sneaking food into the knapsack to hinting at which quest to take.
He doesn't like to see teams in a helpless situation, such as the first Weeping Door (a dead-end). Treguard allows him to provide 'the calling' to each team.
Pickle also stops a team going wrong during a causeway.
Treguard stops him once from going into the dungeon but Pickle does manage to sneak in on another occasion to save a dungeoneer from Fatilla the Hun.
Changing dynamic
Treguard is strict about the integrity of the game and gives Pickle a hard time about helping. Nevertheless, Pickle creates a closer liaison with the teams. He helps to make more sense of a much-changed dungeon.
His role also helps Treguard adapt to a dungeon that requires more input from the antechamber.
While much of the script in Series 4 is repetitive, the dialogue evolves as the dungeon does. Pickle's lines set up Treguard to give more information - notably in Series 6 when Pickle recognises less of the dungeon.
Pickle's last act was crossing arms with Treguard to shoot down the red dragon at the finale of Series 6.
After this, we learn from a message in a bottle that he has returned to the forest to be happy again.
